Our wonderful client on Minton Dr in Fairfax, VA, reached out to revitalize their landscape, needing comprehensive flower bed cleanup, mulching, and removal of leftover winter debris. They were also looking to address bare spots in the backyard that affected the property’s look. This current customer with our lawn care, mowing, and leaf removal services wanted an estimate for a wonderful landscape makeover.
June in Fairfax, VA, is a vibrant time of year, with warm weather encouraging lush growth and gardens bursting into full bloom. It’s the perfect season for homeowners to enhance their outdoor spaces, ensuring their yards look their best for summer gatherings and relaxation.
Flower Bed Cleanup Solution:
To enhance their new home’s curb appeal and create a welcoming environment, our client envisioned a yard that offered a relaxing retreat after busy days, emphasizing the importance of a visually pleasing and calming landscape. Our approach was meticulously planned to address all the client’s needs:
Front and Side Yard—Landscape Bed Transformation:
- All beds dressed to approximately a 2-inch layer of chestnut brown, triple shredded, hardwood, oak bark mulch.
- Areas included: front and side landscape beds around the perimeter of the house.
- All weeds hand-pulled and debris (twigs, leaves, acorns…) removed from landscape areas. Trapped leaves pulled out of shrubs.
- Season-specific shrubs trimmed for health and shape. Cut back perennials. Prune blackberry bush off of the house.
- Landscape bed on the left side professionally edged and sculpted, creating definition from lawn area and walkways.
- Remove leaves and dead shrubs/branches from around fence, patio, and shed.
Targeting Problem Areas in the Backyard for Flower Bed Cleanup:
- The island bed on the right side of the house dressed to approximately a 2-3 inch layer of chestnut brown, triple shredded, hardwood, oak bark mulch.
- All weeds hand-pulled and debris removed from landscape areas. Trapped leaves pulled out of shrubs.
- Ivy removed after quick kill application. Landscape fabric installed before mulching the area.
- Season-specific shrubs trimmed for health and shape. Cut back perennials. Remove extra trees growing in the bed.
- No edging required.
