Pedro’s talent begins with his ability to make you feel welcome, extending patience, step by step “how to training” of endless industry knowledge, a huge smile and detailed bilingual explication to even the newest of employees. Pedro holds one of our favorite employee growth stories as he started at MowCow helping to distribute fliers more than 16 years ago, and today holds a top management position within our operations and production department.
Throughout the spring, Pedro assists our clients with placing plants for detailed designs. In the winter, he loves seeing faces light up when he paves the way through a blizzard at one of the many hospital streets—he makes sure that even in the deepest of snows, the emergency hospital is accessible.
On Saturdays you can catch Pedro and his 6 year old son Christopher parking dump trucks and welcoming crews back from a long day of work making sure they know they are a valued member of our herd.
A jack of all trades is a great way to describe Arturo. No matter what division he works with in the field, he adds to the dynamic and accomplishment of that team. Coming to us as a general manager of a very large fast-food chain, Arturo brings the drive to create processes and the need to lend a hand, right to our MowCow family.
On the off times, Arturo enjoys spending every moment he can with his precious daughter, Francesca, and showing a soft side that his fellow landscapers rarely get to see. From dressing her up in pretty sparkles to playing fun pastime games. Everyone at the Cow agrees Arturo brings a flare and sense of accountability to our production department, which is always welcomed and respected amongst the team.
Rene’s laughter can be heard across the shop! His fun, energetic “can do will do” attitude is contagious. Most days he is in the field making the clients houses on his route continue to be the envy of the neighborhood. With over 17 years of lawn maintenance experience, you can see why Rene’s customers request his route year after year, by name! However, his gifts do not stop when his mower is off the back of his truck.
Rene is holding shop organization and maintenance close to his heart, every time he pulls the countless trailers, mowers and trucks out of the shop in the morning at 6 am, until he hits the last switch then closes the door, no matter how late it the evening it may be. Rene leads countless mowing crews and even more VDOT snow plowing crews every single year, with a laugh, a chuckle and even a giggle because you can’t hide that you love what you do!
If you’ve ever heard the term “wake up and smell the roses” and you have had the chance to meet our master with the shears, Celio you’ll always relate him to the saying. Celio truly makes landscape dreams come to life! He’s the face of our landscape department and the love, care and tenderness he puts into even the simplest of clean up and mulch is impeccable. The shear genius can create a masterpiece out of a tired “need some TLC” of a landscape.
After over 28 years of dedication to MowCow’s landscape division we haven’t gotten a retirement date yet as he enjoys keeping up with the youngsters and teaching junior landscapers a thing or two about how to talk to the flowers as he gives them a little hair clip or two. Clients are always quick to call in following his visit to ask who the master behind the baseball cap was and when can he come pay another visit, we just smile through the phone and say “isn’t it great to wake up and Smell the Rose’s!”
How we need a morning sip of coffee to keep us alert, Oscar needs a morning problem solving exercise. The light that Oscar shines on any hole in processes, to the suggestions on how to offer clients a high level of service in more rapid form, Oscar is the team mate we all want to help us strategize!
For the past 12 years you’d can catch Oscar detailing lawns and creating crisp edges along sidewalks and driveways. Clients on his route know that if anyone can keep their lawn looking green and sharp, it is Oscar! His talent to find clever ways to deliver our “Udderly Dependable” service have never steered us wrong especially in years where it rains more than the sun shines. Now, do not confuse Oscar’s eye for efficiency for anything less and superior quality. When he is out there, he uses every opportunity he finds, as a teachable moment. Showing crews photos and approaching training sessions using what’s working well, and even better if communication makes team mates and managers alike feel blessed to see him driving that white with black spotted trucks!
