We’re looking for a Landscape and Lawn Sales Rep. You will quickly respond to inbound leads and existing clients who ask about our lawn and landscape services, build relationships, discover their needs, and recommend the best solutions for landscape, hardscape, and other related needs. This is a full-time (or maybe part-time), position with a base salary plus commissions and bonuses.
You need to live near the Northern Virginia area. Our customers live in the regions around Fairfax Station, Virginia.
You will work on the road and virtually from home including using Zoom and Facetime to examine clients properties (with full masking and social distancing when you visit their properties in person). We love telework, and we’re good at supporting it. However, you may be able to work from our offices instead if you prefer.
Needed skills include selling (in-person and remote) based on inbound leads, relationship building, lawn and landscape and plant knowledge, an eye for landscape layout and design, love of process improvement, great communication (listening and speaking (English) so people understand you clearly and quickly), skills, friendliness and positivity, Google spreadsheets and not afraid of technology (for bid/quote preparation and reporting), superb follow-up, listening, attention to detail, great personal productivity, super comfortable with tech and computers, ability to learn quickly, and top-notch initiative and ownership of outcomes. We need an outgoing, exceptionally friendly Sales Admin / Customer Service Rep to join our “Udderly Dependable,” MowCow empowered team. Our team members develop strong client relationships and thrive on supporting each other in achieving our personal sales and customer service goals.
This is a full time, year–round, hourly, work-from-HOME position with bonuses and overtime, with growth opportunities. We are an empowering company that encourages everyone to be a leader. Duties. As a Sales Assistant, you’ll be an important part of the outside sales department. You’ll help our sales people stay i front of clients because you support them well on the back end. You’ll create, verify and deliver quotes quickly. respond to leads in a timely fashion, update our CRM system daily, follow up to help close sales with clients that received quotes, and perform customer service for our VIP clients.
When you’re not supporting the outside sales team, you will assist our customer service and inside sales team with a wide range of client needs. In this capacity you will be a superhero to our clients—fully empowered and trusted to get them answers and solve their problems quickly.
As part of the MowCow team, you’ll practice empowering leadership (as seen in the book Neverboss) and help us maintain and build a culture of teamwork and universal safety at all times. You’ll communicate with clients, suppliers, and team members both on phone and in person, so you need excellent communication skills and good emotional intelligence. You'll also face unusual and interesting problems from time to time, so you need the ability to analyze and fix problems on the fly and work with a team to maximize project result.
Skills. Rapid dictation typing of 50+ WPM (we will test you in your first Zoom interview), Google Docs and Google Sheets, superb listening and auditory processing, precise data entry, CRM, appointment scheduling and calendar management, good with numbers, exceptional attention to details, superb organization and personal productivity, iron-clad follow-through, ability to switch tasks without losing your place, customer service and customer empathy, strong communication skills, and a strong desire to learn.
Bonus skills or experience include sales, customer service, commercial purchasing, peaceful de-escalation, and WOWing the customer.
Schedule: During the “On Season” (7 months: mid Aug thru mid-Dec and Mar-May) work hours are typically Mon-Thu 9:30 to 6, Fri 8 to 5, and Sat 9-2; during the “Off Season” (5 months: Jun thru mid-Aug and mid-Dec thru Feb) work hours are typically 9:30 to 5 Mon-Fri. You may be able to flex this schedule with prior approval.
Location: This is a teleworking position, so you need an excellent, quiet home office or work environment, a computer, top-notch Internet and cell phone reception, excellent computer skills, and great work habits.

MowCow Lawn and Landscape is a 30-year-old, residential-based lawn and landscape maintenance firm. We’ve been providing outstanding, “udderly dependable” lawn and landscape service to Northern Virginia neighborhoods since 1986. We offer a positive, friendly, highly empowering workplace with ample opportunities for growth.
The Account and Landscape Manager is responsible for two areas: 1) account management with our key clients, and 2) leading, building, and managing the Landscape Production department.
This manager and client liaison leads, trains, schedules, and ensures quality, timeliness, and excellent service for all landscaping services at MowCow. They delegate and build landscape supervisors and workers into leaders using the principles and tools of empowering leadership. They proactively see and recommend additional landscape services to our clients based on site visits and current campaigns. They also upsell and quote lawn care and mowing services when they are on site, and they act as our client liaison and account manager for all MowCow customers, especially VIPs.
Needed skills include managing, leading, training, building empowered leaders (we will train how), landscaping and landscaping project and lawn and plant knowledge, process development and improvement, root cause problem solving, upselling or recommending services in-person, customer service, client relationship building, great communication skills, friendliness and positivity, Google spreadsheets, not afraid of technology, superb organization and follow-up, listening, ability to learn quickly, and top-notch initiative and ownership of outcomes. This is only a partial list of duties and skills. Bonus skills include bi-lingual (spanish).
If you lack experience in some areas but you have passion, intelligence, initiative, and heart, we will build on what you know and either train you or help you delegate your weak areas.
Compensation is salary (~90%), with added sales commissions (~10%+) to celebrate and reward you for your wins in upselling and occasional part-time upselling opportunities as they arise.

This is a full time, year-round position with growth opportunities. Hours start before 7 am, M-Fri (8am Sat when needed).
You will begin your work day at our offices in Fairfax Station, VA as well as on the road and virtually. Usually you visit client properties in person. However, we encourage Zoom and Facetime if/when they work better for our clients.
